Meal Tray Upgrade: What’s Changed & How to Use ThemUpdated 3 hours ago
Q: What’s changed with the new trays?
A: We’ve moved to trays made from renewable sugarcane pulp with a thin plastic liner. They’re sturdier, heat more evenly, keep food fresher for longer, and are easier to recycle.
Q: Are the trays recyclable?
A: Yes. After eating, peel off and discard the plastic film lid (general waste). Rinse the tray and put it in your kerbside recycling bin. The inner plastic liner is bonded to the tray and is designed to be processed through recycling systems.
Q: Are the trays compostable?
A: Yes. Just peel away the inner plastic liner first. The fibre tray can then go into your home compost with other paper and cardboard.
Q: Can I use the tray in an air fryer?
A: We don’t recommend it. The trays aren’t designed for air fryers. If you’d like to use one, transfer your meal to an air fryer-safe dish first.
Q: Can I freeze meals in these trays?
A: Yes. The trays are freezer safe down to -40°C, so you can store meals for later with confidence.
Q: Why did Dineamic make the switch?
A: To improve both quality and sustainability. The new trays lock in freshness, reduce food waste, and are made from renewable sugarcane pulp that can be recycled kerbside once the film lid is removed.
